Whilst Beauly will always be an important place in the history of Camanachd Leòdhais, thanks to Callum Stamper’s opening goal back in 2011, and a brave rearguard action that saw us lead for an hour in our league debut, the club’s record since against the Priory team has been marked by several heavy defeats.
After last week’s 10-0 defeat by highflying Glengarry in the Single Team Club Cup, travelled to last year’s league champions who have done well in North Division One so far.
Lo and behold however, the brave Dubh is Gorm put in a legendary performance to progress in the Sutherland Cup. Our first ever win over “A’ Mhanachainn” and the first time we have beaten a team in a tier above. How fitting it should be at Braeview Park, where this journey began in many ways, that these brave “Sons of Stamper” should make history.
Beauly took the lead but by half time, Callum MacRitchie and Paul Duke had us 2-1 up.
We controlled the majority of the second half and Duke put us 2 goals us with 30 mins to go.
It was an exciting game of shinty but no further goals were scored and we came away with a deserved win.

An excellent performance to a man. This win means a trip to Portree in a fortnight to take on our friends at North Division One’s Skye in the next round.
