Camanachd Leòdhais reached the half-way point of their first season in league shinty on Saturday 4th June.  However, they were unable to celebrate this milestone with a win, losing 7-1 to Inverness-shire side Boleskine at Shawbost.

We competed well in the first half, and were unlucky to go in at halftime losing 2-1 to goals from Robert Weatherspoon and Iain Grant.  Stuart “Tyson” Campbell had scored the goal of the game for Lewis from a Scott Murray free-hit.

The second half was different story with Weatherspoon, Michael Pirrie, Ewan Fraser and Lewis Smith all notching goals as well as Grant scoring at the death to put a slightly flattering sheen on the performance. Final score 7-1 to Boleskine, who remain second top of the table.

Lewis had young goalkeeper Euan Gilmour to thank for keeping the score down as their opponents class showed in the second period.  Lewis also welcomed their first Harris-based player, Alasdair MacLeod onto the park as well as former Kyles Athletic veteran Dougie Shaw.

The club has now played all the sides in Marine Harvest North Divison Three and has played more competitive games in three months than in the first four seasons of the club.
