Paddy Sinclair broke some new ground for Camanachd Leòdhais as he represented the club with Skye & Wester Ross in the under-17 North District Championship at Spean Bridge this weekend past. The competition was won by Lochaber, the other competing teams were Inverness-shire and Badenoch & Strathspey.
Skye WR were beaten by Lochaber 5-1 in the semi final which set up a 3/4 place play off against Badenoch and Strathspey, Paddy came on as a sub in both games and almost came close to scoring in the bronze medal match as well as contributing an assist to Oliver ‘Ach’ MacRae of Kinlochshiel’s winning goal in the 4-2 defeat of what was practically a Kingussie/Newtonmore select.
This was also a trial for the North U17 side to face the South U17s at the end of September and hopefully Paddy has done enough to remain in the thoughts of the management team, who have the tough job of whittling almost 70 players down to just 16. However, even in reaching this level he has done the club proud.
Hopefully we can have more players at both under 17 and under 14 representative level in the coming years.
