Another excellent performance on Saturday against a strong Lochaber Camanachd Club side as we came from behind to earn a point.
It was a cracking game of shinty with both sides going absolutely full throttle for 90 minutes.
Both teams combined to hit the woodwork three times, our backline was in excellent form against a dangerous attack, the Lochaber keeper made three or four saves of real quality in the second half & we had a goal disallowed for a borderline offside call. The game was certainly a crowd pleaser!
Allan ‘Ginger’ MacKinnon came off the bench to cancel out Brennan MacDonald’s opener and notch his first ever goal for the Dubh ‘Is Gorm.
Three points in the first two games is an encouraging start to the season particularly given that our first two games were at venues were we have struggled in the past. Indeed this is the first point we have picked up in Spean Bridge in eight attempts.
A huge thank you to Lochaber for hosting us & managing to get us fed & watered despite the tight turnaround we had to get home for the ferry. We look forward to welcoming them back to Shawbost in June.
We don’t have many free weekends this season but this Saturday is one of them. Our next game is away to Lochcarron on 25th March.
