A brave, fighting second half was not enough to take anything from this game at Grantown Grammar School. Two soft goals in the first half gave the boys a mountain to climb in the second half, and whilst Will scored a peach to take it back to 2-1, it went 3-1 after Andy Hay, who bagged a hat-trick was left unmarked at a free hit. Will banged in his second to again swing the momentum towards Lewis but a fourth for Spey was met by relief by the home support as it provided a cushion to close out the game. Lewis never stopped battling until the end and a little luck against an on-form Spey keeper might have seen a different result to what was a hard-fought fixture.
Thanks to all our supporters who made the trip, and to all the players who were in attendance, especially those who didn’t make it onto the park. Great to see the dedication from the squad as always.
