Nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Well done to all the boys on Saturday who ground out a 4-3 victory over Inverness at the Bught. It was a tough game against motivated opponents and we made life very difficult for ourselves at times with silly goals, but there was great play on display and a first win of the season will be a great fillip for a tough game versus Kilmallie this Saturday. Duncan got his third career hat-trick and Paddy scored a screamer to draw us level. Paddy’s first goal for the club (apart from a goal against the touring SCOTS in 2009) and great to see that his time at Glasgow University has developed his playing skills to a top level. Our young players all put in a great shift, Ally Lamont, Al Reed and Euan Gilmour, who pulled off a top level save at 3-2 to keep us in the match. Michael MacLeod will also have a big role to play this season and hopefully even more youngsters can break into the team over the coming season.
Excellent food at Dow’s Diner Inverness, and even more so when they were perplexed that we had left money for food.

“Race For The Drams”
We probably also now have enough enough goals to justify a goal-scorers chart. Here are the current standings in the “Race for the Drams” as our intrepid heroes try to reach the magical 20 mark.
Duncan – 3
Will – 2
Paddy, Duffy, Donald – 1
Duncan took advantage of Will’s inactivity to race to the top of the leaderboard. Donald and Paddy will also be looking at keeping pace after they opened their accounts recently.
